I appreciate the deprecation of that prayer, just as I disapprove of didactic prayers in the first place. Nevertheless, that prayer follows the canon; it isn't interpolated, and it certainly doesn't "mutilate" it. Personally, I find the Gregorian canon one of the most balanced and beautiful prayers in Christendom--East or West.

The American Office Book and the Franciscan Office Book both use the lectionary from the (US) 1928 BCP. The American Office Book uses the collects from that BCP, but the Franciscan Office Book uses the collects from that BCP supplemented by LFF, Prayer Book Office, and where necessary the Anglican Breviary.

The AB and MD don’t partake of the lectionary, as they follow the Roman and Benedictine breviaries’ practice, respectively. None of these books follow the 1979 BCP.

Just to add, what I was commending here is the quality of the translation and the setting in plainsong. The negatives are that this liturgy shows the signs liturgical scholars are accustomed to seeing, that the “soft” points of beginning, ending, and transitions are susceptible to having things “tacked on” or added in. This liturgy would be immeasurably improved by removing the extra preparation of gifts at the beginning and the extra additional prayers at the end and letting the dismissal be the dismissal.

Father, did you compare the lectionary and the collects against the BCP? At a quick glance the lectionary and collects appear to be the same as the 79 BCP, but without making a careful study, it’s hard to be sure…

Actually, there are a few inaccuracies and a few unusual choices pre-made in that website. I use parts of it myself, but double check with your actual book before relying on it, not to mention using a good translation of the Bible instead of the one that website uses. I recommend the RSV-CE or the RSV-Second CE.
